The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ottawa assists in the promotion of strong bilateral ties and cooperation between Canada and Norway and plays an active role in public diplomacy, business services and traditional diplomatic relations. The Embassy provides services to facilitate the extensive dialogue between Norway and Canada on the large number of issues where the two countries share interests and outlook. The Embassy actively promotes extensive cultural contacts between Norway and Canada and maintains contact with groups and organizations among the approximately 250.000 descendants of Norwegian immigrants living in Canada.

Due to a Scandinavian agreement, all applications for tourist visas and work/residence permits are handled by the Danish Embassy in Ottawa.
