Norway makes its move in the international chess world

ISFiT -The International Student Festival in Trondheim, one of the world’s largest student festivals, is being held in Norway in February 2011. The theme for this year’s festival is global health. The application deadline is 30 September.

The Norwegian film Limbo is the feature film debut for director Maria Sødahl. Its international premiere will be at the world competition in the 34th World Film Festival in Montreal, August 26th to September 6th this year.

In 1960 the discovery and excavations in L’Anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland started due to the meeting between Helge Ingstad of Norway and George Decker of L’Anse aux Meadows. Together they discovered the only authenticated Viking site in North America. Years of excavations and research followed. Today, 50 years later, it is time to celebrate this important historical discovery.
