The Essence of Kos

As one of the safest countries in the world to live in, it’s no secret that Norway attracts hundreds to thousands of foreign visitors each year. In fact, this quality way of life is highly associated with their native concept of coziness.

With that said, having a good time in Norway is popularly known as “kos.” So, what is the real essence of kos?

Kos is a Norwegian term for coziness or having a good time. In essence, it encompasses kindness, laughter, togetherness, and warmth. However, showing kindness is not just limited to being friendly to people; it also extends to taking care of the environment.

In fact, Norwegian people are well-known for indulging in simple eco-friendly pleasures. Furthermore, kos stands for having fun and spending quality time with family and friends. In this case, it could be a nighttime indoor activity filled with laughter or a mountain hiking session altogether.

Kos could also mean a relaxing routine that’s as simple as sipping a cup of coffee and enjoying a freshly baked cinnamon bun. Because of this, the taste and warmth of coffee are enough to keep Norwegians happy early in the morning.

With that said, perhaps one of the primary reasons Norway remains a safe place to live is evident in the way natives value kos. As a result, Norwegians take care of each other and their environment.
