Her Excellency Else Berit Eikeland: Canada and Norway have much in common, from our northern identity and the wealth of our national resources to our firm commitment to the values of active democracy. We are both arctic countries and Norway is keenly interested in northern realities and how these are reflected here in Canada. Canada and Norway enjoy an exceptionally good and close relationship, and the numerous bonds between individuals and the history we share strengthen this relationship. As the Norwegian ambassador to Canada, it is my privilege to be contributing and further develop the relationship between Canada and Norway. The excellent bilateral relations to Canada remain of the highest importance to Norway.
